MIDDLE SCHOOL BOYS
The middle school boys lacrosse program is the precursor to the high school junior varsity and varsity competitive level. Moreso than youth programs, emphasis continues to focus upon development of skills; however, a series of 8-10 games per season incorporate important role of team dynamics and competition. The season typically culminates with a Round-Robin Jamboree/Tournament the second weekend of May. While several schools in the Lexington area have their own teams, LYLA sponsors the Lexington Lizards, a city-wide team that promotes lacrosse through schools without programs with the goal of ultimately seeding more middle school programs. As well, for the schools in northern Kentucky without a school program, the Northern Kentucky Lacrosse Club sponsors a middle school program. For more information on a program at your school, please visit the team web site below or contact the appropriate coach. Or if you are a home-schooled student or attendee at a school currently without a team, please contact the Lexington Lizards or the Northern Kentucky Lacrosse Club coaches/coordinators to be placed on a contact list for Fall Skills Sessions and Spring Practices and Games.
