Description
The Lexington Lizards is an area-wide middle school and youth team consisting of players from any and all local public, independent, and home schools not represented by one of the other LYLA youth teams. Schools with representation on another team include Christ the King, Beaumont Middle School, The Lexington School, Mary Queen of the Holy Rosary, Seton Catholic, Sts. Peter and Paul School, Tates Creek Middle School, and the northern Kentucky (Newport/Covington area) schools.
Requirements
To be a team player on the Lexington Lizards,
the following conditions must be met: Practices and Games During the Fall Season (October - November),
skills development clinics are held once weekly to instruct on stick
skills, throwing, catching, shooting, and other fundamentals of the
game. The only equipment required for the Fall Season is a lacrosse
stick. During the Spring Season (March - May), full practices are held
twice a week to develop team dynamics, initiate physical contact, and
practice offensive and defensive plays. Full equipment including helmet,
shoulder pads, elbow/arm pads, gloves, cleats, mouthpiece, and an athletic
supporert is required. In cases of financial need, LYLA has a meager
supply of equipment available on a first-come, first-served basis. A

Park (Larch Lane, Lexington, KY) Current Team Roster (based
on preliminary interest/registration):
1) The player must be a male between the ages
of 10 and 14 (4th - 8th grade) to be eligible for the U-13 or U-15 teams.
2) The player must be a current member of US
Lacrosse ($25/year).
3) The player's current school must NOT be represented by one of the teams in the list above.
4 ) The player must have a passion for lacrosse, an interest in learning
new skills and fundaments, and a desire to participate on a competitive
team--in general to HAVE FUN!
In addition, parents are asked to be active members of the program providing
support as "team mom or dad" (coordinator of volunteer efforts and board
member of LYLA), time-keepers, score-keepers, orange wedge/power drink
providers, transportation/car-poolers to local games, and our SUPER
FANS!

Registration
Access the following link to conduct preliminary registration. (NOTE:
Membership in US Lacrosse is required to participate in the Fall Season
and Spring Season. Final registration takes place in the Spring Season
as a $100 fee must be submitted by the date of the first Spring Season
practice to cover compensation for the coach, officials, and field rentals.)
